Assignment: Create a cover illustration with the theme: 'Restaurant week'.
Concept: Studio 071 created a portrait of the stereotypical cook inspired by revolutionary Renaissance painter Giuseppe Arcimboldo, who is famous for making portraits composed of foodstuffs. As a link to Leiden the nose is a carrot and the cheeks are onions (for the famous "peen & ui", the ingredients of hutspot).
Assignment: Doorgedraaid are best described as atmosphere engineers. Doorgedraaid is a creative company that organises electronic music events and creates stylish and unique decoration and stages for festivals and events, from concept to end product. Studio 071 is responsible for the visual identity of Doorgedraaid, including their bimonthly event posters.
Concept: Doorgedraaid started organising electronic music festivals and events in their home town, mostly outdoors. "The feeling you get when you stand with your bare feet in the grass, dancing till the sun comes up", was to be reflected in their visual identity. Therefore we came up with the concept of mixing nature with electronics and use this as the base of all their designs. Now, after 4 years, the result is quite a large series of posters, which is still growing!
Assignment: Design and create a mural for in the women's restroom with designs of Allart Lakke integrated in the design.
Concept: 'De Buitenste Binnen Tuin' is Dutch for The Outside In- Garden'. It's an installation in the style of a mythical, fairy tale garden in the women's restroom at Haagweg 4, where you can go to the toilet while gazing at the stars.
The foxes in the entry hall of the Garden are 2 characters created by Studio 071 as mascots for Leidse Lente.

Assignment: Student society Minerva is the oldest student society in the Netherlands. For their 200 year anniversary, Studio 071 was asked to create a visual identity with the theme 'Paradox'.
Concept: A paradox is not only an apparent contradiction, but also a philosophical puzzle. Therefore we came up with the idea to create a 3D logo with different elements that fit together as a puzzle, and to place this logo in a 'Paradoxal' world, surreal and full of contradictions.
Concept: This work was inspired by the name of the jellyfish portuguese man-o'-war, which is the same in Dutch ('portugees oorlogsschip'). This image will appear on the Doorgedraaid poster of March 2015 (see below)
Client: Frank a Do, Online marketing buro
Assignment: Create a character for online marketing company Frank a Do and 12 chapter illustrations with that character for the Frank a Do website.
Concept: Frank is a robot who lives in a digital/mechanical world. He's open-minded, fast, and happy to help wherever he can.
